Sensory DIY's for all ages.

Twinkling Moon Sand:

Ingredients:

8 cups of flour

1 cup of baby oil

Glitter

Method: Mix the three ingredients well until all of the oil is incorporated into the flour and then play and mould!

*Keep in an airtight jar or cover if using in a play tray.

Super Simple Playdoh:

Ingredients:

2 cups hair conditioner

4 cups cornflour

Food colouring

(Essential oils can be added to this a drop at a time for a fragranced doh, or try some ground coffee or lavender for an added texture!)

Method: Put conditioner into a large bowl, add a few drops of food colouring and mix. Add a cup of the cornflour and mix. Repeat until all ingredients are combined. *Since different brands of conditioner have different consistencies you may need to play around a little with adding more or less cornflour. *Store in a ziplock bag at room temperature.

Unicorn Slime:

Ingredients:

½ tablespoon of baking soda

1 tablespoon contact lens solution

4 Fl Oz white PVA / school glue

Glitter (optional)

Food colouring gel

Method:

In a large mixing bowl add the glue and the baking soda and mix. Add the desired amount of food colouring and glitter, mix well. Then add the contact lens solution and stir well until it gets harder to mix, then knead by hand. *If slime is still sticky you can add a few more drops of the contact lens solution. *Store in an airtight container.

Kinetic Clouds:

Ingredients:

2 cups baking soda

1 cup baking powder

1 cup dishwashing liquid soap

Add the baking soda, baking powder and dishwashing liquid in a large mixing bowl.

Stir the mixture with a spoon until a sandy substance forms. Then begin to knead the mixture by hand together until it feels sandy and dough-like but not wet. If you have to, add some more baking powder at this point too in order to make it fluffy.

*Store in an airtight container.

Mermaid Sand:

Ingredients:

3 cups play sand

1 small can shaving foam (250g)

Glitter / Sequins

Add sand into a large storage box or play tray, add shaving foam and get the kids to mix by hand. Then sprinkle glitter / sequins on top, add toys and sit back while the kids have a blast!

*Store in airtight container or cover in play tray.
